The Southport Australian Football Club has used spectacular signs to showcase the many changes at the club. Signage at the new look club projects a colourful atmosphere that is family friendly and fun.
The Sharks is one of many organisations discovering how smart LED technology and bold signage can transform a venue into a local icon. Operations Manager for the Southport Australian Rules Football Club, Dean Bowtell said he was pleased with the results. "We're excited about our latest facilities, which accomodates the needs of our broad range of patrons," he said.
Australian firm Albert Smith Group undertook the design, construction and installation of the new signage that included the creation of the exterior Shark signs, one above the front entrance and another vertical to the left of the building.
The signs incorporate LED technology and emit sequenced colour changing light in different ways. Both signs are made up of individually fabricated channel letters. The sign above the front entrance has letters that are internally lit with the changing shades of colour emitted through the face of the letter. The vertical sign has the illumination appearing behind and around the perimeter of each letter to create a halo effect.
"Clients who use this kind of signage technology can shoose from the whole spectrum of colours available from blending red, green and blue light", said Elizabeth Easton from Albert Smith Group. "Customers can shoose the colours and the sequence to suit their identity," said Ms Easton. "This kind of signage technology is excellent for businesses that want to attract attention or would like a change. A dynamic effect is created by the simple act of introducting animated light. The Shark's new signage reflects the excitement of what they have on offer throughout the facility, it makes a dramatic impact."
